  EVENTS FRINGE MEETING AT THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONFERENCE 07
The Commission held a fringe meeting at The Conservative Party Conference in Blackpool with William Hague MP, addresing an audience of over 200. The meeting was also addressed by Simon Coveney TD, Benedict Rogers and Mohamed Nasheed.

The Commission has held its second hearing, focusing on Eritrea.  The human rights situation in Eritrea has deteriorated significantly in recent years.  Exiled Eritreans and human rights experts gave evidence at the meeting.

AUNG SAN SUU KYI'S BIRTHDAY
Members of the Conservative Party Human Rights Commission joined the Burmese community in exile and other activists on Monday, June 19, in a demonstration to mark Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi’s 61st birthday.
