Conservative Human Rights Commission Launches New Report on The Conservative Party Human Rights Commission has launched a new report, reviewing the UN Human Rights Council and setting out recommendations for the UK Government to take forward. The report, written by Commission member Heather Blake, draws on contributions to the Commission from a variety of experts and NGOs, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, the United Nations Association of the UK, Christian Solidarity Worldwide, Freedom Now, Freedom House and Reporters Sans Frontières, as well as evidence submitted by Sir Desmond de Silva QC, International Lawyer and former United Nations Chief War Crimes Prosecutor in Sierra Leone, Sir Nigel Rodney KBE, Professor of Law and Chair of the Human Rights Centre, University of Essex and a member of the UN Human Rights Committee, Richard Gowan, Senior Fellow for the European Council on Foreign Relations, and Foreign and Commonwealth Office officials.
